Ron Jordan is an accomplished writer and editor who enjoys working with and helping others to fulfill their dreams of having their first book published. A North Carolina native, he has spent nearly 50 years in the writing industry—first as a newspaper reporter chasing ambulances and following cops on the police beat, then covering high-profile criminal cases as a court reporter, and later writing feature articles. Currently, he is editor for a well-known international ministry and a freelance writer.
Of the hundreds of interviews he has conducted, Ron lists among his favorites a sit-down with a then 9-year-old Michael Jackson before he became a superstar icon; an airport-lobby chat with famed Roots author Alex Haley; and a conversation with famed TV talk show host, Oprah Winfrey. Ron was the first news reporter in the country to interview legendary Stevie Wonder following the singer’s near deadly car accident in North Carolina. Others he has interviewed include: Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas; cartoonists Charles Schultz, Bil Keane, Peter Kelly and Bill Hanna; Wendy’s founder, Dave Thomas; Chick-fil-A founder, Truett Cathy; actors Angela Bassett, Carroll O’Connor and Alan Thicke; singers James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Larnell Harris, Andrew Crouch and CeCe Winans; football star Gale Sayers; and heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frasier.
A co-owner of Jordan Media Services with his wife, Edna, Ron has written four Christian devotionals, and has recently developed two children’s books. He and Edna were junior-high school sweethearts, have been married 49 years, and have four adult children and five grandchildren. They live in Fort Worth, Texas, and are actively involved in ministry at their place of worship, Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas.
